Join Manual and friends of the studio as they exhibit rare modernist posters from their personal collections.

Posters (Affiches, Plakate, ポスター) is a week-long exhibition featuring rare and significant modernist posters designed by notable Swiss, Dutch, German, and Japanese designers. The collection is amassed from a handful of private collections, featuring works by Wim Crouwel, Josef Müller-Brockmann, Armin Hofmann, Otl Aicher, Hans Neuburg, Paul Rand, Massimo Vignelli, Ikko Tanaka and Yusaku Kamekura.

Posters (Affiches, Plakate, ポスター) is the first time these privately owned pieces will be seen together, with many posters on display for the first time in many years. Organized by Manual, and including pieces from the studio’s own collection, Posters (Affiches, Plakate, ポスター) brings together designers and collectors from around the Bay Area to exhibit and celebrate the art of mid-century modernist poster design.

The event will also include a short panel discussion hosted by Tom Crabtree, featuring local designers and some of the collectors contributing to the show.

Beer generously provided by Fort Point Beer Company, with wine donated by Cameron Hughes.
