Multi-hyphenate creative force Stefan G. Bucher shares insights on his creative process and on his most recent lunatic adventures in obsessive compulsive design.
Stefan G. Bucher is the man behind 344lovesyou.com and dailymonster.com, which has spawned a book and the popular “Monster Maker” iOS app. He is the author of five other books, including the best-selling “344 Questions—The Creative Person’s Do-It-Yourself Guide to Insight, Survival, and Artistic Fulfillment.” He has created designs and illustrations for David Hockney, Judd Apatow, and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He is an ADC Young Gun and has won a D&AD Yellow Pencil for book design.
He designed the titles for the films “The Fall,” “Immortals” and “Mirror, Mirror” by director Tarsem. His time-lapse drawings appear on the Emmy-award winning TV show “The Electric Company.”
He designed the Blue Man Theater in Las Vegas, gave life to the Saks Fifth Avenue Yeti, and turned singer/songwriter Wesley Stace into an animated character. He recently mounted a gallery retrospective of his work from 1985 to 2075 entitled “Everything Is Going Exactly As Planned” and is currently working on a number of skunk works projects.
