Event description

How and why do we educate new woodworkers in 2016? Educational theorists talk about applied knowledge and the value of touching a product in all parts of its lifecycle; others pursue woodworking for the joy of material problem solving and personal rewards of mindfulness. Passing on the work, learnings, and legacy of James Krenov is the foundation of College of the Redwoods’ existence. But in expanding the breadth and depth of the conversation to the broader woodworking and furniture making community, we can explore the pursuit of excellence in craft and the role this plays in contemporary education.

Panel speakers include Danny Montoya, Chris Wood, Jay Van Arsdale, Liz Thorpe. Moderated by Deirdre Visser.

The exhibition and programming is supported by The Krenov Foundation.
